About The Position
The Residential Counselor provides direct and indirect services to individuals and groups of members served at Serenity House, a 13-bed, short-term intensive Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) program serving adults in San Mateo County who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. Clients may be referred from a hospital, jail, community, or by self-referral. The program aims to help clients avoid inpatient hospitalization and emergency services, regain stability, and begin working toward longer-term recovery goals. This is a full-time overnight position, scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The expected starting wage range is $24.59–$29.64, with geographic pay differentials; starting pay depends on location and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Hourly staff may receive applicable shift and weekend differentials.
Requirements
- High school graduation or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting.
- Valid and current driver's license.
- Personal vehicle insurance listing the applicant as a driver.
- Willingness to use the company vehicle to transport clients to appointments and groups.
