About The Position

The Residential Counselor provides direct and indirect services to individuals and groups of members served. The position is with Telecare Citrus House, a 16-bed crisis residential treatment program in Downey, California. The program provides short-term, 24/7 crisis residential services for adults ages 18 and older, helping people in acute psychiatric distress avoid inpatient hospitalization, emergency services, and incarceration; regain stability in a safe, homelike environment; work toward longer-term recovery goals; and connect with stable housing and ongoing treatment.

The available schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m. The expected starting wage is $23.00; the assigned pay range depends on the geographic location from which the role is performed, and starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. The role requires willingness to drive clients to appointments and groups in a company vehicle and to use a personal vehicle to attend meetings, with weekly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate.

Requirements

• High school graduation or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups.
• Willingness to use a personal vehicle to attend meetings; weekly mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate.
