About The Position

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is hiring per-diem Residential Counselors at its Wayside Campus in Framingham. The role involves supervising and engaging with youth in activities and daily routines, supporting their skill development, and helping provide a safe, supportive residential environment. Counselors work collaboratively with the staff team, participate in training, and maintain required certifications. No college degree is necessary. The position pays $20.50 per hour.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license; motor vehicle background record checks will be completed.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• High-quality communication skills, including the ability to connect with others, be approachable and respectful, and communicate with people at all levels.
• Reflective self-awareness.
• Ability to manage risk.
• Ability to support youth.
• Flexibility and creative thinking, including adapting to changing work situations, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth/residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for youth/residents through collaborative teamwork.
• Participate in training and maintain necessary certifications.
• Facilitate recreational activities and work with staff to maintain program structure while providing positive role modeling.
• Provide safe transportation for clients and administer medication once MAP certified.
• Help provide clients’ basic needs, including regular meals, a safe and clean living environment, recreational activities, and appropriate hygiene.
