About The Position

CRJ’s Disabilities Services supports adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities through specialized residential and day programs in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The organization provides care tailored to the needs of the people it serves. The Residential Counselor helps create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for individuals with disabilities in group homes. This part-time role is 24 hours per week and offers a starting rate of $21 per hour. It is benefits eligible and includes training and opportunities for career advancement and professional development.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations.
Experience with electronic documenting and report writing.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
Prior experience working in residential or behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

Supervise and transport clients during assigned hours, including for job interviews, medical appointments, weekly recreation, religious services, and shopping trips.
Support and teach clients new skills, including goals in their Individual Service Plans.
Act as a positive role model to support clients in attaining the highest quality of life while maintaining their safety in all settings.
Administer medications and complete documentation in a timely manner, including progress notes, weekly summaries, and attendance.
