About The Position

The Residential Counselor supports individuals in achieving greater independence and quality of life through direct care, guidance, and skill-building in residential and community-based settings. The role assists individuals with daily living activities, community participation, and personal goals while helping maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. Residential Counselors advocate for the people they support and promote community engagement, self-determination, and meaningful relationships.

The position helps develop and implement individualized, person-centered service and support plans; provides daily living and skill-development support; assists with transportation and access to community resources; and implements activities that promote inclusion, relationship building, personal growth, and valued social roles. It also involves maintaining a clean and safe environment and completing required documentation accurately and on time.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing individualized, person-centered service and support plans and actively participate in their implementation.
• Support individuals with daily living activities, skill development, and personal goal achievement.
• Assist individuals with accessing transportation and community resources as needed.
• Implement activities that promote community inclusion, relationship building, personal growth, and the development of valued social roles.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served.
• Review, complete, and maintain required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
