About The Position

Open Sky Community Services supports adults with developmental and intellectual challenges referred by the Department of Developmental Services. Its residential programs provide safe, nurturing homes that address each individual’s needs and preferences and encourage participation in community life.

The Residential Counselor supports people diagnosed with a developmental disability to live as independently as possible in a group living environment. The role provides evidence-based treatment and care, guidance, and support with activities of daily living. Counselors implement procedures to protect individuals’ health, safety, and well-being and promote healthy, productive, and independent lives. They advocate for individuals, support community integration, and help individuals build meaningful and active lives.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and take a lead role in implementing daily plans.
• Implement procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals, as well as the general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
• Assist individuals in accessing transportation and/or provide transportation.
• Review and complete all required documentation.
• Provide guidance and support with activities of daily living.
• Advocate for individuals and support their community integration and participation.
