At Mountainside Treatment Center, we are seeking a Residential Clinician who brings clinical expertise and a heart for holistic healing to our team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum credential of a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) in the State of Connecticut is required.
  • Must have basic computer skills including competence in software applications such as Microsoft Office suite, Adobe and use of internet applications and in using and/or connecting wireless computer hardware, the ability to project to remote devices, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Fully licensed as LCSW, LPC, LADC, or LMFT or actively working towards licensure is preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with substance use disorder treatment preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the field of counseling preferred

Responsibilities

  • Create a collaborative integrated treatment plan, including referrals to Family Wellness Program, APRN, Psychiatrist, Mind Body Spirit Program, Nicotine Cessation Program, Adventure Based Counseling Program and Continuing Care.
  • Review client’s discharge records from previous treatment providers, contacting client’s emergency contacts and family members, former providers and referral sources.
  • Comply with all federal, state and accreditation regulatory requirements.
  • Review and utilize screening/assessment tools, stage-wise interventions, and treatment models.
  • Conducts therapeutic treatment utilizing best practices of counseling, case management and crisis intervention.
  • Understand group dynamics/processes and facilitate group therapy with a focus on integrated care and documents efforts via individualized progress notes.
  • Maintain clinical chart in accordance with agency and accreditation standards
  • Complete all documentation thorough and timely, within Organization standards
  • Role model, explain and encourage pro-social behaviors such as: time management, appropriate language, dress, and the importance of building fellowships
  • Collaborate and contact client’s stakeholders such as emergency contacts, family members and referral sources as applicable
  • Review and update client’s collaborative integrated wellness plan in a timely fashion
  • Communicate with Client Services and Medical staff to assist with client medication compliance and medication issues as applicable
  • Collaborate with Mountainside team; most importantly, the partners in Residential & Detox, such as Family Wellness, Client Services, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food Services and Continuing Care
  • Participate in individual clinical supervision and group clinical supervision when assigned
  • Complete required Mountainside staff trainings (such as Relias) when due and attend scheduled trainings to improve clinical skills as assigned
  • Maintain communication with client’s treatment team and seek ad hoc supervision when needed
