About The Position

SLCS is seeking a Full-Time Residential Case Worker for the Urinalysis Collection and London Reporting Centre programs. This role involves providing assessment, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and support services. The Case Worker will assess participants' strengths and needs, focusing on community reintegration, mental health, and addiction issues, while advocating for individuals in the criminal justice system. Responsibilities include liaising with external services (parole officers, clinical support, courts) to coordinate care and ensuring the safety and security of participants and staff. The role also involves administrative functions for the Cody and Gallagher Centers. A key responsibility is ensuring program compliance and following procedures for urine collection from participants in residential facilities or community settings, maintaining sample integrity and chain of custody. The incumbent will also be the Primary Case Worker for individuals referred by the Correctional Service of Canada through the London Reporting Centre Program, developing individualized support plans, supporting community reintegration, and collaborating with the London Parole Office. Networking and partnership development to promote program services and connect participants to community resources are also expected. The position's home base is at the Cody and Gallagher Centers, with travel expected throughout southwestern Ontario. This position has a bona fide occupational requirement to be restricted to male applicants only.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education from an accredited institution
  • Standard First Aid/CPR - Level C
  • Valid G2 or G class Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
  • Clear Police Check with vulnerable sector screening

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year (preferred) relevant urinalysis collection experience preferably within justice, corrections, mental health and/or addictions
  • Proficient in both official languages of Canada

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and support services.
  • Assess program participants’ strengths and needs, particularly in regard to community reintegration, mental health and addiction issues.
  • Provide advocacy for individuals involved in the criminal justice system.
  • Liaise with other services (i.e. parole officers, clinical support, courts) to coordinate care for participants.
  • Responsible for the safety and security of the participants and other staff during your shift.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to complete administrative functions for the Cody and Gallagher Centers.
  • Ensure program compliance and follow established procedures for facilitating urine collection of participants.
  • Focus on urine collection from participants, ensuring integrity of samples collected at the request of the referring agency and urinalysis collection chain of custody.
  • Ensure that the appropriate paperwork is completed, including the consent and authorization by participants.
  • Maintain appropriate privacy and confidentiality of all involved.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans for participants.
  • Support participants' reintegration into the community.
  • Collaborate with the London Parole Office.
  • Network and develop partnerships to promote the program service delivery.
  • Connect program participants to their communities of choice.
