About The Position

Havenwyck Hospital, a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, specializes in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults. The Residential Care Specialist (RCS) performs routine residential care duties and selected non-professional services under the supervision of the Director of Residential Services, Program Manager, and RCS Supervisor. The role involves providing a safe and therapeutic environment, observing residents' behavior and mental status, reporting information to clinical staff, assisting with daily living activities, and encouraging independent behavior. Other duties include assisting with admissions, discharges, transfers, and participating in the implementation of the resident’s individualized plan of care.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience in dealing with the emotionally disturbed preferred.
Employees must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, evaluation, etc.) to be considered for internal transfers.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of two years of college in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, and other related health fields.

Responsibilities

Follows instructions given by Program Director/RCS Supervisor as outlined in policies and procedure.
Provides care to child/adolescent (9-18) in a manner that considers safety, residents’ rights, comfort, level of development, and the therapeutic environment.
Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.
Assists with resident trips outside the center transporting residents in hospital van, as needed.
