The Registrar I is responsible for timely and accurate patient registration by interviewing patients to obtain all pertinent account information and verify insurance coverage. This role involves interviewing patients at a workstation or bedside to gather necessary account details, ensuring chart accuracy, verifying insurance, obtaining pre-certification/authorization, calculating and collecting patient liable amounts, and securing necessary signatures for treatment and billing. The Registrar will also explain policies related to services, charges, and payments, process patient charts and registration paperwork, and welcome patients and family members professionally. Additional duties include assigning coverages, researching patient visit history, preparing daily deposits, maintaining cash drawer integrity, registering and admitting patients after hours, escorting patients or arranging escort services, and attending mandatory education and training sessions. Performs other duties as assigned.
