About The Position
The Residential Support Staff (RSS) plays a pivotal role in our adolescent residential home where we care for adolescents 12-17 years old with mental health diagnosis in a safe, therapeutic, home-like setting. The RSS provides direct client supervision and care and assists the team with providing individualized approaches to wellness. Key skill in this position is staying awake the whole shift. This position is Full-time on 2nd shift, with rotating weekends (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Current, valid NC driver's license and safe driving record required to transport.
- Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with MH/SA/IDD concerns is necessary.
- Must remain awake for the entire shift.
- Successful completion of an extensive background check, motor vehicle records check, drug screening, OIG, NHCR, and required education verification.
Responsibilities
- Grocery shopping, meal preparation, and general housekeeping of the residence as well as planning and supervising activities.
- Medication administration and documentation following training period.
- Transporting residents to appointments and outings in a company vehicle.
- Direct client supervision and care.
- Assisting the team with providing individualized approaches to wellness.
- Staying awake the whole shift.
