About The Position

Provides direct care to families assigned to the Emergency Hotel Family. This role is responsible for monitoring, screening, and overseeing all families, ensuring their safety and security. The Residential Aide works closely with case management staff to address family needs, assists with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills and housekeeping, and transports clients to appointments. The position also involves engaging families for socialization opportunities, monitoring adherence to rules, responding to health and mental health needs, and completing bed rosters in the DHS-CARES system.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Food Handler's Certificate required
• Experience with homeless and substance use populations needed
• A clean and valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a passenger van necessary
• Ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects
• Must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues
• The physical ability to perform the essential job functions is needed

Responsibilities

• Monitors, screens, and oversees all families assigned to the Emergency Hotel.
• Responsible for safety and security of all families assigned to the Emergency Hotel.
• Works closely with the case management staff to meet the needs of the families.
• Assists families in developing their ADL skills, housekeeping as needed.
• Transports and accompanies clients to various appointments as needed.
• Engage families on a one on one basis as needed to afford socialization opportunities.
• Monitor families for adherence to project and hotel rules.
• Responds to family health and mental health needs as needed.
• Complete bed roster / bed assignment as needed in DHS-CARES system.
