About The Position

The Residential Advisor provides a safe, supportive, and predictable dormitory environment for Job Corps trainees ages 16–24. The role supervises residents’ daily activities, monitors progress toward performance contract goals and objectives, and applies behavior management and consistent, Core-Value-driven practices. The advisor conducts dormitory operations according to center policies and procedures, maintains good order and discipline, and ensures residents follow applicable rules. The position also supports students as they adjust to Center life through supervision, behavior modification, and mentoring, and documents student records and relevant data in accordance with PRH.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Pass a drug screen in compliance with the Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience in a related field, such as counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Supervise students ages 16–24 in the dormitory and maintain good order and discipline.
Help ensure dormitories are supervised 24 hours a day and residents follow rules, policies, and procedures.
Maintain accountability for all residents and make logbook entries about significant events during the shift.
Monitor students’ progress toward performance contract goals and objectives.
Assist students in adjusting to Center life through supervision, behavior modification, and mentoring.
Conduct dormitory operations in accordance with center operating policies and procedures.
Document student records and enter relevant student data according to PRH.
