About The Position

Horizon House is seeking a part-time Residential Advisor for its Developmental Services Division in Feasterville, Pennsylvania. The Residential Advisor provides care and supervision to assigned residents, supporting a safe, healthy, secure, and pleasant environment that promotes growth and development. The role also helps residents build independence in self-care, daily living skills, socialization, and community living, and contributes to individual service plans and related documentation, including recording client progress.

Requirements

Associate degree in social sciences or a health care-related field and one year of relevant experience in the mental health/intellectual disability field, or a combination of experience, education, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Demonstrated crisis intervention/prevention and de-escalation skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend, potentially including direct intervention with residents.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
May need to provide frequent crisis intervention in emergency situations.
May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.

Responsibilities

Facilitate client growth and development toward independence in self-care, daily living skills, socialization, and community living.
Participate in developing individual service plans and related documentation.
Document client progress as residents move through the service delivery system.
