About The Position

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is seeking a Resident Treatment Technician to join our team! This is a full-time position with a Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. schedule and opportunity for advancement, growth, and development. WRC is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Vocational Department team. As a Resident Treatment Technician at WRC, you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals in our community to live their best lives. WRC prepares and supports individuals to live in the community of their choice. The facility provides a range of services that include being an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability (ICF/IID), daily supported community living, consultations/training, behavioral health services, physical nutrition management, and community residential-based guidance in learning prosocial behavior and personal accountability.

Requirements

  • Experience equal to eighteen months of full time work as a nursing or therapeutic assistant in a health care facility or other facility for the intellectually disabled, mentally ill, elderly, physically ill or disabled; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of post high school education (thirty semester hours or equivalent academic units) with an emphasis in nursing and/or the social or behavioral sciences for one year of experience to a maximum substitution of one year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct training to individuals in a work setting.
  • Work in a variety of work/activity areas as needed.
  • Instruct, lead, direct, and monitor work tasks for Individuals to ensure quality work.
  • Assure all monies, receipts, and documentation of vocational/leisure transactions are completed per established procedures.
  • Assist with community outings and large group activities on campus.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure documentation is completed as required.
  • Assist at houses as needed following all Intermediate Care Facility/Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) regulations and WRC policies.
  • Attend department meetings for the purpose of communication, presenting problem areas for discussion, planning, and coordination of activities.
  • Embrace other duties as assigned.
