About The Position

Schochet is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to make a difference in the lives of families in affordable/low-income housing. This role involves working one-on-one with residents to identify needs and coordinate services, developing relationships with community partners to bring in programs and resources, and planning events that build community and promote well-being. Schochet is a full-service real estate development and management company committed to providing enriched housing with resident supports. In Brockton, we are building an enhanced resident services program in partnership with Hebrew Senior Life at Hamilton Wade Douglas House, a 240-unit Elderly/Disabled Apartment community.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Portuguese, Haitian Creole or Spanish required.
  • BS in Social Work or related field or 2-3 years’ experience in social services delivery with youth and families preferred.
  • Pre-employment background check & drug test required.

Responsibilities

  • Connecting residents to services, resources, and support, including assessments, education, referrals to service providers, and ongoing monitoring of support.
  • Addressing service topics such as resources for older adults to age in place, benefits and entitlements, food assistance, and mental health support.
  • Working as part of a team with resident services staff, property management, residents, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Advocating, organizing, and problem-solving to obtain results for residents.
  • Establishing relationships with agencies and service providers in the community to offer direct services to residents.
  • Establishing onsite wellness programs and events through relationships with community partners and/or utilizing the RSC programming budget.
  • Planning events such as celebrations to prevent isolation and build community, lectures on health topics, and general well-being topics like fraud prevention or computer classes.
