About The Position

This position is responsible for accepting and processing residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight. The Resident Monitor will monitor the activity of residents on an assigned shift, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with house rules. This role also involves maintaining accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information, and ensuring that the shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order. Key responsibilities include preparing resident rooms for occupancy, ensuring facility readiness, checking fire safety equipment, and distributing linens, hygiene items, and medications as required. The position also involves monitoring resident activities to maintain a safe and secure environment, enforcing house rules, conducting facility rounds, monitoring security cameras, and documenting significant incidents. Additionally, the role requires completing client intake and program documentation, maintaining electronic records, processing rent payments, and obtaining required signatures on forms, rules, and regulations. The Resident Monitor will also respond appropriately to emergencies and resident conflicts, assist with de-escalation efforts, manage facility access during operating hours, and support food pantry operations as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
One year experience performing security or social service work preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage, motivate, and appropriately manage client behavior while working with diverse populations and the general public
Ability to work independently with limited supervision, consistently enforcing established policies, procedures, and program guidelines
Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly, calmly, and effectively while maintaining control and implementing appropriate corrective actions
Capability to perform frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
Occasional lifting and carrying of light objects (up to 25 lbs.)
Requires a level 2 background screening
