About The Position

The Residential Monitor plays a key role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and structured environment for residents within the home. This position involves supervising residents, assisting them with daily routines, and ensuring compliance with house rules and safety protocols. The Residential Monitor is responsible for conducting regular safety checks, managing behavioral issues with empathy, and documenting daily activities and any incidents.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid licenses and insurance (if transporting residents)
• Good physical and mental health
• Willingness to participate in DCFS training
• Strong communication skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• High Ethical Standards and Confidentiality

Nice To Haves

• Coursework in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience working with youth
• Experience in a residential care setting, social services, or working with vulnerable populations (e.g., mental health, rehabilitation, youth services)
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and best practices of youth development

Responsibilities

• Conducting regular safety checks
• Managing behavioral issues with empathy
• Documenting daily activities and any incidents
• Supervising residents and ensuring they follow program rules, guidelines, and daily planned schedules
• Storing and supervising residents as they take any medication
• Assisting in planning activities for the residents
• Developing positive relationships with the residents
• Attending staff meetings and participating in all required trainings
• Transporting residents if requested, ensuring valid licenses and insurance are maintained
