About The Position

Dismas Charities is seeking a Full-Time Resident Monitor to join their team. This entry-level social services position involves monitoring the custody, security, control, and maintenance of the facility and residents in a community-based adult re-entry program. The role requires ensuring residents are accountable and adhere to all rules and restrictions, managing various transactions, and assisting with resident programming. The position also involves monitoring the facility for safety and sanitation, maintaining knowledge of all procedures and policies, and performing general housekeeping duties. Due to contractual obligations, applicants must identify as female for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergency situations.
  • One year of paid work experience.
  • Applicants must identify as a FEMALE for this position due to contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors residents by observing, documenting, and ensuring accountability within the facility and in the community.
  • Enforces all rules, responsibilities, and restrictions assigned to residents.
  • Provides control and documentation of transactions related to money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
  • Assists with managing program services, including installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents in homes and places of employment, and providing alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
  • Conducts and documents scheduled internal and external inspections of the premises to maintain health, safety, and accountability of residents.
  • Ensures physical plant safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Maintains working knowledge and follows all procedures and policies outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals.
  • Proficiently operates in knowledge and operations of emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
  • Works necessary hours to staff the center, including accepting reassigned shifts without advanced notice, in the event of a work stoppage.
  • Attends and participates in all required appointments/meetings, some of which may be off-site.
  • Performs general housekeeping of the work area, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director.
