Resident Engineer (Heavy Highway Experience)
About The Position
French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Resident Engineer with Heavy Highway Experience for our Construction Engineering Department in Camden, NJ. This role involves serving as a Resident Engineer on New Jersey Agency projects, performing on-site inspection for heavy highway projects, and overseeing additional inspection staff in the field. The position also includes assisting in the review of cost estimates and project submittals, coordinating with Project Managers, and performing office-related work when not on construction inspection. The Resident Engineer will ensure daily contractor operations adhere to Contract Documents and maintain organized project files.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Civil Engineering school required.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License or valid NICET III/IV Certification required.
- Experience performing construction inspection on prior New Jersey Agency projects.
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a Resident Engineer.
- Advanced ability to read and understand Contract Documents.
- Ability to pass a TWIC Background Check.
- Ability to perform Night work, if required.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Resident Engineer on New Jersey Agency projects and perform on-site inspection for heavy highway projects.

- Travel to projects sites when required.
- Perform office related work when not performing construction inspection.

- Keep organized and up to date project files.
