About The Position

Keville Enterprises Inc., an established Construction Management Consulting & Inspection firm, is seeking a full-time Resident Engineer I to join our team in Rocky Hill, CT. Keville has been serving the Construction Management Industry since 1991 and specializes in providing a full spectrum of construction management and support services as an owner's representative on public and private projects. This role focuses on inspecting public and private construction projects for highway, road, bridge, rail, facilities, water/wastewater and airport projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in inspecting, testing, or managing construction projects is a must.
  • Fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel, and Site Manager.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Eager to learn, willing to perform a variety of tasks and be a team player.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in civil, highway or a relevant engineering field.
  • Three (3) years of this experience shall have been in a field supervision role.
  • At least four (4) years of which shall have been in field inspection activities.
  • A current State of Connecticut Professional Engineer's License or CCM Certification.
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in a relevant field is required.
  • Employees assigned to driving duties must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
  • Background checks required.

Nice To Haves

  • Other certifications a plus including: NACE Coatings Inspection; ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor; NETTCP Asphalt, Soils and Concrete; and AWS/CWI.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Contract administration.
  • Reporting daily progress.
  • Tracking and documenting quantities of work performed.
  • Resolving construction problems and challenges in the field.
  • Other oversight responsibilities as assigned.
