About The Position

The Resident Driver performs delivery and courier duties, including postal pickups and deliveries on and off campus. The role provides transportation for special events, trips, and medical appointments, and assists residents with entering and exiting vehicles and moving between vehicles and destinations. The driver also loads and unloads ancillary equipment, such as wheelchairs and walkers, and operates assigned vehicles safely and legally for scheduled trips. Vehicles must be checked regularly for safety or maintenance problems, which must be reported promptly to a supervisor.

This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week, scheduled 2–3 days during the week, with weekend availability required. Pay is $17.50 per hour. A CDL must be obtained within the first six months of employment; the company pays for training and associate fees for employees in good standing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Must obtain a CDL within the first six months of employment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a clear driving record for three years.

Responsibilities

• Perform delivery and courier duties, including postal pickups and deliveries on and off campus.
• Provide transportation and related services for special events, trips, and medical appointments.
• Assist residents into and out of vehicles and wheelchairs, and assist wheelchair-bound residents between the vehicle and their destination.
• Load and unload ancillary equipment, including wheelchairs and walkers.
• Operate assigned vehicles safely and legally for scheduled trips, including necessary vehicle warm-up, passenger assistance, and package loading and unloading.
• Check vehicles regularly for safety or maintenance problems and report issues immediately to the supervisor.
