About The Position

The Resident Director position is a supervisory position and serves as a role model and leader for their area. The position requires leadership skills, good judgement, energy, commitment, self-discipline, knowledge of campus resources and sensitivity to culture differences. The Resident Director assists the Area Coordinator, works collaboratively with and supervises the area staff, advises the hall governments, and serves as a resource to residents to develop a strong positive and respectful community in their area.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing their bachelor's or master's degree
  • Must be a full-time student and maintain a minimum of 12 (bachelor's) or 6 (master's) credit hours
  • Must be in good standing with Mercer University and the appropriate academic college
  • Must be in good judicial standing with the University and the Office of Housing and Residence Life
  • Must comply with all departmental, university, local, state, federal policies and laws
  • Must live on campus in assigned apartment
  • Must meet a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average
  • Must meet a 2.5 semester grade point average throughout their term of employment
  • Complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) and present documentation verifying citizenship or permanent residency
