Resident Dining Attendant
About The Position
At the Woodhaven Retirement Community, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive, warm environment, where our residents feel at home, safe, and respected. We are currently seeking a dedicated and caring Resident Dining Specialist to join our team and contribute to a positive and meaningful dining experience for our elderly residents. As a Resident Dining Specialist, you will play an important role in delivering warm, personalized mealtime service. You’ll help create a welcoming atmosphere in our dining areas while ensuring residents’ nutritional needs and preferences are met with care and attention.
Requirements
- High school education preferred.
- Ability to read and write and exhibit a sincere desire to work with elderly Residents.
- Must have a willingness and sincere desire to maintain a harmonious atmosphere for Residents and fellow Staff.
- Must be trustworthy, have good character and courteous manners.
- A heart for serving older adults with kindness and patience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, friendly meal service to residents in the dining room
- Set up dining areas before meals and ensure a clean, welcoming environment
- Take and deliver meal orders accurately and promptly
- Assist residents with menu selections, including dietary restrictions
- Support kitchen staff with light food prep, plating, and dishwashing as needed
- Follow proper sanitation, safety, and infection control procedures
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and work collaboratively with other team members
