About The Position

The Resident Attendant is responsible for assisting seniors with their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills and the physical ability to support residents. The attendant will interact with residents daily, help with personal care, encourage independence, and assist with activities and meals.

Ability to speak, read, and write English to the degree that allows for understanding and being understood by typical Residents.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 40 pounds.
Ability to move about the facility quickly.
Physical ability to assist Residents daily and in emergencies.

Responsibilities

Assist Residents in activities of daily living, including showering, dressing, personal hygiene, grooming, transfers, and escorting, as per their individual Care Plan. Maintain proper documentation of assistance provided.
Motivate and encourage Residents to be as independent as possible, while providing necessary assistance with kindness, respect, and dignity.
Encourage Residents to participate in activities and meals.
Deliver trays to rooms with attention to quality, proper settings, and promptness to ensure food temperature.
Serve meals in the dining room, assist residents with routine needs during dining, and observe for any arising needs.
Ensure meal service is enjoyable through attentive and prompt service.
Respond to the Resident call system and emergency needs appropriately.
Make up Residents’ beds daily according to assigned rooms.
Assist with activities, particularly during evening hours and weekends.
Be observant of safety hazards for residents and staff, and report them immediately to a Supervisor.
Perform facility and resident laundry and housekeeping tasks as assigned (for night shift attendants).
Attend all meetings and in-services as requested.
Perform job duties in accordance with safety rules.
Perform other duties as requested by the Director.
Be available to work at times, days, or positions other than those scheduled as requested by the Director.
