Fairstead is seeking a Resident Coordinator to provide support and referral services to residents in subsidized multifamily properties. This role involves monitoring residents' living conditions and the services they receive, coordinating programs to enhance their quality of life, and tracking the impact of these initiatives. Requirements

  • Demonstrated volunteer and community experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Positive outgoing attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient listener with excellent interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computer applications and data tracking systems like Family Metrics and Yardi.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, vendors, and associates.
  • Adhere to tight deadlines and quick turnaround for deliverables.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment where adaptability is imperative.
  • Strong written and oral skills.
  • Accurate with a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between Community Managers and residents to ensure resident preparedness for annual recertifications, assisting with identifying important paperwork.
  • Act as a liaison between NYCHA and residents to ensure annual recertifications are completed in compliance with NYCHA’s requirements and deadlines.
  • Work closely with management and serve as a conduit with at-risk households to prevent eviction for non-payment of rent or lease violations.
  • Be the primary contact for residents, non-profits, and city/state agencies for the implementation, registration, and participation in programs and events.
  • Serve as a resident liaison for community meetings and social services, programs, and events.
  • Identify ongoing issues and opportunities to better serve residents and support Fairstead’s mission.
  • Act as a community relations liaison for public meetings, Tenant Association meetings, and events as needed.
  • Track and maintain day-to-day social services activities at the property in accordance with local, city, state, and federal guidelines, in collaboration with the Property Management Team.
  • Maintain a Resource Directory listing state and/or local service providers for resident assistance.
  • Maintain records, documentation, and files, particularly complex or sensitive ones.
  • Type letters and memos.
  • Track visits and calls.
  • Oversee telephone services, email correspondence, and mail distribution.
  • Answer phones pleasantly, adhering to phone techniques outlined in the policy and procedures manual.
  • Assist in taking work requests and expediting their completion, maintaining records as stated in the policy and procedures manual.
  • Maintain courteous communications with residents, applicants, and representatives of other companies.
  • Assist clerical and support staff with assigned duties, especially when more advanced, skilled, or sensitive work is required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
