About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring Resident Care Associates (RCAs) for The Residence at Basking Ridge. This role is described as a career that 'loves you back' and offers a rewarding experience working with seniors. The position involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. RCAs are responsible for delivering services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan.

Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in oral and written English communication.
  • Completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Actively participate in growing community occupancy by positively representing the community to potential residents, families, and professionals.
  • Complete community and State orientation training programs.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifying the nurse of any changes.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
  • Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, and mobility.
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual activities.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, reporting and documenting any noticed changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist residents in going to bed when necessary.
  • Assist residents in keeping their living units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and attend to residents' needs.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs as required.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement activities as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, as well as residents' refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offers cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
