About The Position

Resident Care Assistants at MRC PineCrest do more than provide support. They build relationships, encourage independence and bring meaningful moments to each resident’s day. PineCrest, Lufkin’s premier continuing care retirement community, is seeking a compassionate and dependable Resident Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing compassionate resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, assisting with routine care needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence. The Resident Care Assistant will help residents adjust to changes related to illness and the normal aging process, build meaningful one-on-one relationships with residents, and encourage participation in activities and help residents maintain their interests, abilities, and independence. Additionally, this role may involve leading and coordinating engaging activities and programs and assisting the care team with developing and implementing individualized care plans. The ideal candidate will bring patience, positivity, and a genuine heart for serving older adults.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Two years of resident care experience preferred, ideally in a hospital, assisted living or long-term care setting
  • Working knowledge of basic resident care procedures
  • Basic computer skills
  • A dependable team player who leads with kindness and professionalism
