About The Position
The Sanctuary of West St. Paul is seeking a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide to provide personal care that supports or maintains the physical and emotional well-being of residents in its assisted living and memory care community. No CNA is required unless the employee is under 18; on-the-job training is provided to pass medications. The position is described as part-time caregiver weekend support, with a casual/on-call schedule and day, evening, or night shifts. Weekend work is needed as required.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with kindness toward residents and coworkers while working in a team setting.
- Curiosity about working with a diverse and older population.
- CNA certificate on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry is required if the applicant is under 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED, or completion of a formal NA or HHA course.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, shaving, dressing, hair care, feeding, toileting, and transfers or lifts.
- Under a nurse's direction, provide health-related services as needed, such as passing medication, glucose monitoring, taking temperatures, and measuring blood pressure and pulse.
- Perform duties that may include laundry, cleaning, meal service, and assisting with activities.
- Observe residents and report their status to appropriate staff.
- Assist with onboarding new staff.
