About The Position

The Resident Assistant provides hands-on physical and emotional care to residents according to each resident’s service agreement. The role includes communicating with residents and families, informing the case manager about changes in condition or concerns, assisting in the dining room, and participating in activities and outings. This is a PRN position covering all shifts at Talamore Sun Prairie, with pay of $18–$22 per hour depending on certification and experience.

Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident’s best interests.

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience in long-term care or an assisted living residence.
Registration as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living as indicated in their individualized service agreements.
Help residents reach and maintain the highest possible level of performance and independence.
Provide residents with physical and emotional support.
Assist with treatments delegated by the Registered Nurse, as specified in the resident service agreement.
Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional condition, such as changes in attitude or appetite or weight loss, to the case manager.
Interact with residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
Complete required daily documentation, including the service schedule, flow sheet, and communication book.
Communicate with residents and families and notify the case manager about changes in condition or concerns.
Assist in the dining room and participate in activities and outings.
