About The Position

Sanford Health is hiring a part-time evening Resident Assistant, Medication Aide. The role provides resident care and services, including medication assistance, healthcare services, help with activities of daily living, and other assigned duties, in a caring, safe, and efficient manner while following location standards and procedures. The schedule is three shifts per week from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday. Additional shifts may be available.

Requirements

Complete and maintain the assigned medication administration training program and competencies according to state guidelines.
Meet the minimum state age requirement if working at a facility that uses a lift to move residents.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with self-administration of medications; administer medications when properly trained.
Help residents maintain a proper, clean appearance, including bathing and personal cleanliness.
Assist residents with toileting, dressing, and undressing.
Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking.
Accurately obtain vital signs and report changes in residents’ health status.
Follow OSHA and CDC infection-prevention guidance and aseptic cleaning techniques, including procedures for blood-borne pathogens.
Use chemicals safely and follow SDS guidelines in the event of exposure.
Help prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals and snacks in accordance with orders, standards, and regulations.
Fold, hang, and distribute clean linens and personal clothing; prepare and launder soiled linens and clothing.
Clean residents’ rooms and bathrooms, work areas, and other public areas.
Participate in community involvement at the location and work with volunteers.
