About The Position

Provides care and services to residents in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, following the standards and procedures of the assigned location. Duties include assisting with medication self-administration or administering medications after proper training; supporting residents with activities of daily living; monitoring vital signs and reporting changes in health status; and maintaining clean, safe resident rooms and shared areas. The role also supports meals, laundry, infection prevention, and community involvement.

Requirements

Complete and maintain the assigned medication administration training program and competencies in accordance with state guidelines.
Meet the minimum state age requirement if working at a facility that uses a lift to move residents.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with self-administration of medications and, with proper training, administer medications.
Help residents maintain personal appearance and cleanliness, including bathing and toileting.
Assist residents with dressing and undressing.
Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking.
Obtain vital signs accurately and report changes in residents’ health status.
Follow OSHA and CDC infection-prevention guidelines and aseptic cleaning techniques, including precautions for bloodborne pathogens.
Use chemicals safely and follow SDS guidelines in the event of exposure.
Assist with preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals and snacks in accordance with orders, standards, and regulations.
Fold, hang, and distribute clean linens and personal clothing; prepare and launder soiled linens and clothing.
Clean residents’ rooms and bathrooms, work areas, and other public areas.
Participate in community involvement at the location and work with volunteers.
