About The Position

The Resident Assistant/CNA provides hands-on support with residents’ daily activities while building relationships and helping residents feel comfortable, supported, and at home. The role is a full-time, second-shift position (3 p.m.–11 p.m.) at The Fountains in Cartersville, with an every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. Team members can access earned wages through the Tapcheck mobile app.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Passion for the senior population.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to think and work independently with direction from a team leader or manager.
• Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with other health professionals in residents’ presence.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive working relationships with residents, family members, and staff.
• Maintain the confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist residents with daily living activities, including turning and ambulating, and delivering food and beverages.
• Help residents with personal hygiene, including bathing and use of bedpans.
• Provide adjunct patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings or assisting with soothing baths after therapy.
• Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for medical and nursing staff.
• Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
• Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
• Follow fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
• Communicate efficiently and consistently with team members and other health professionals, including using an appropriate bedside manner.
• Remain calm and professional in high-pressure, fast-paced, time-sensitive situations.
