About The Position

The Fountains in Calhoun, a community of Navion Senior Living, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate resident care and physical support in residents’ home. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living and responding to residents’ emotional and physical needs. This is a full-time, second-shift opportunity, with rotating work every other weekend required. The community uses Tapcheck, a mobile app that lets team members access earned wages before payday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to think and work independently with direction from a team leader or manager, while maintaining efficient and consistent communication.
• Excellent oral communication skills when speaking with other health professionals in residents’ presence.
• Ability to endure high-pressure situations in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
• Passion for the senior population.

Nice To Haves

• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a positive working relationship with residents, family members, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist with daily living activities, including turning and ambulating residents and delivering food and beverages.
• Help residents with personal hygiene, including providing bedpans and assisting with bathing.
• Provide additional patient care as needed, such as delivering ice packs and dressings or assisting with soothing baths after therapy.
• Monitor and record food intake and urinary and fecal output for medical and nursing staff.
• Process information from other professionals and work with physicians, caregivers, and nurses.
• Use infection-control precautions and practices during all activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
