This position assists in the planning, organizing, and implementation of programs for residents at different functional levels. The role involves one-to-one interaction with residents to provide companionship, sensory stimulation, reality orientation, and individual instruction on leisure pursuits, all while meeting the needs outlined in their care plans. The assistant will assess and report resident progress, maintain records of activities and visits, and manage departmental supplies and equipment. Safety supervision during activities, transportation of residents, and participation in resident care plan meetings are key responsibilities. The role also includes participating in fundraising for the Resident Recreation Fund and recognizing/reporting any abnormal signs or symptoms in residents. A significant aspect of the role involves understanding and participating in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts, including attending training, carrying out assigned QAPI responsibilities, and supporting QAPI initiatives through actions and attitude. Additionally, the position requires promoting a culture of safety, empowerment, and healing in line with Trauma Informed Care principles, and adhering to compliance and ethics standards by participating in annual training and reporting concerns.
