About The Position

BACI is looking to hire Adult Residence Workers who are skilled in supporting from a Harm Reduction approach, knowledgeable with supports for people who live with addictions, and able to maintain boundaries and consistency. Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) has been supporting people with disabilities for decades, evolving its services and advocacy to build inclusive communities. Adult Residence Workers at BACI support people we serve to explore and reach their highest potential through precise implementation of person-centred support plans. They advance inclusion by encouraging and supporting people to explore community and belonging and by increasing independence. The ideal Residence Worker candidate demonstrates creativity, ability to remain calm under pressure, a willingness to support people who may display challenging behaviour, ability to collaborate and work with an integrated care team, and a passion for supporting people to explore and expand their communities and interests!

Requirements

• Skilled in supporting from a Harm Reduction approach
• knowledgeable with supports for people who live with addictions
• able to maintain boundaries and consistency
• Graduation from a University or Community College with an appropriate degree or certificate in Human Service OR an equivalent of education and experience may be considered
• First Aid/ CPR
• A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License required
• requires union membership
• completion of Criminal Record Search as per the Criminal Record Review Act
• open to female candidates only

• Non-Violent Intervention training preferred
