About The Position

The Residence Manager is responsible for the overall operation, supervision, and success of assigned residential programs. This role provides leadership to staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports high-quality, person-centered services for residents (people receiving services).

Requirements

Associate degree with 3 years’ experience working in an OPWDD or similar Human Services settings. Or, A combination of education and experience that in the opinion of the agency, exceeds this standard.
Valid NY State driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier require
Ability to lift and assist with up to 50 pounds (including transfers and physical support)

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations of residential programs to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance
Supervise, support, and develop Assistant Residence Managers and Direct Support Professionals
Manage staffing needs, including scheduling, performance management, and hiring support
Ensure accurate, timely documentation and compliance with agency, OPWDD, and billing requirements
Support implementation of service plans while promoting resident independence, safety, and well-being
Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergencies or staffing needs as required
Monitor program environments, addressing safety concerns and coordinating maintenance needs
Collaborate with families, staff, and external partners to support resident outcomes
Facilitate team communication and maintain a positive, team-oriented culture
Ensure staff complete all required training and maintain necessary certifications
Submit maintenance requests and follow up on facility-related issues
Maintain strong working relationships with staff, residents, families, and community partners
