About The Position

Pathways, Inc. is seeking compassionate, kind, and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Residence Counselor in our residences for adults with developmental disabilities. We have locations in Corning, Painted Post, and Elmira, NY. As a Residence Counselor, you will be responsible for implementing each individual's Individualized Program Plan, which includes teaching and assisting with community integration, social and recreational activities, money management, transportation, behavioral needs, and overall health and well-being. You will also meet regularly with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, Residence Manager, and other members of the individual's Service Planning Team to ensure services are appropriate and meet the individual's needs, likes, and choices. You will be expected to respect each individual’s home, belongings, and Agency property.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Prefer at least one year of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities or related field of experience.
A valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines to operate Agency-owned vehicles.

Responsibilities

Implementation of each individual's Individualized Program Plan.
Ongoing teaching and assisting with community integration.

Providing transportation.
Addressing behavioral needs.
Ensuring the overall health and well-being of the individual.
Meeting regularly with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, Residence Manager, and other members of the individual's Service Planning Team.
Respecting each individual’s home, belongings, and Agency property.
