About The Position

The Reservationist is responsible for booking housing reservations for individuals or groups requesting accommodations at Lake Junaluska. This role involves scheduling guest rooms, communicating essential information such as deposits, cancellation policies, and rooming list policies, and ensuring the accuracy of data entered into hospitality systems. The Reservationist also supports the sales and marketing department with direct sales and marketing efforts, including telemarketing to potential and past guests. A key aspect of this role is responding to customer inquiries and complaints in a friendly, positive, and timely manner, while communicating with diverse populations in a way that aligns with the Mission of Lake Junaluska Assembly. Maintaining files for conferences and events, and complying with all safety policies are also essential functions. The Reservationist must possess excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of Christian hospitality to "exceed guest expectations".

Requirements

  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to a minimum of 1 year of relevant hospitality experience and/or training.

  • Detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of software systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Responsibilities

  • Booking housing reservations for persons, individually or as a group, requesting accommodations at Lake Junaluska.
  • Scheduling all guest rooms and communicating specific information such as required deposits, cancelation policy, and rooming list policies prior to arrival.
  • Data entry and ensuring the accuracy of information entered into the hospitality systems, including reservations, confirmation of reservations, updating rooming lists, posting and tracking deposits.
  • Maintaining accurate and balanced folios.
  • Assisting the sales and marketing department with implementing direct sales and marketing efforts.
  • Performing telemarketing efforts to potential new groups, current and past guests, which may include cold calling.
  • Responding to customer inquiries/complaints in a friendly, positive and timely manner.
  • Communicating with a variety of diverse populations in a manner consistent with the Mission of Lake Junaluska Assembly.
  • Maintaining files for various conferences and events utilizing Lake Junaluska facilities.
  • Complying with all safety policies, practices and procedures and reporting any unsafe activities or conditions immediately to the supervisor or the Human Resources department.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.
