About The Position

Nemours is seeking a Research Technologist to join our team in Wilmington, DE. The Research Technologist will work under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager/Principal Investigator and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by the PI and/or senior laboratory staff. This role involves setting up and performing routine and established lab procedures in support of laboratory goals and grant commitments, such as assays, cell/tissue culture, and animal studies. The technologist will monitor results, report unusual outcomes/errors, and suggest modifications. Key duties include collecting, entering, and summarizing data, assisting in the maintenance of lab equipment, and monitoring supplies. The role also involves performing basic safety functions in the lab, including equipment testing, and basic data analysis, including preparing tables, charts, and graphs, and assisting in organizing data. Participation in research laboratory meetings is expected. The position may require performing experiments during certain weekend days or after hours.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years significant laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Carry out simple laboratory tests/cultures and research experiments.
  • Gather measurements and record data under close supervision.
  • Perform lab processes, protocols and functions independently as assigned.
  • Support research operations by cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Perform basic safety functions in the lab, including testing of equipment.
  • Perform basic data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data.
  • Participates at research laboratory meetings.
  • May be required to perform experiments during certain weekend days or after hours.
  • Perform additional miscellaneous lab duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by the associate's supervisor.
