About The Position

Mayo Clinic Arizona (Phoenix) is seeking a Research Technologist for the Zhu Lab. This is a limited tenure position, approved for one year, with a possibility of extension or conversion to a regular position. The role involves setting up and performing routine lab procedures such as assays, cell/tissue culture, and animal studies to support lab goals and grant commitments. The technologist will monitor results, report unusual outcomes, suggest modifications, and collect, enter, and summarize data. Responsibilities also include assisting with lab equipment and supply maintenance, performing basic statistical data analysis, preparing tables, charts, and graphs, and assisting in data organization. The position requires presenting at research laboratory meetings and contributing to manuscript writing. The role operates under supervision, with the potential for independent assignments as approved by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associate degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety.
  • Ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting.
  • Experience with basic data analysis is required.
  • Demonstrated writing skills.
  • Expertise in at least one of the following fields: molecular biology or animal surgery.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in life science or a related field.
