Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center has an immediate, full-time Research Technician opening in a laboratory within its Translational Research Program. The Laboratory for the Study of Metastatic Microenvironments studies the biology of disseminated tumor cell (DTC) dormancy and develops therapeutic approaches to eradicate dormant DTCs. The technician will help identify and quantify human DTCs isolated from breast cancer patients, supporting research into risk factors for breast cancer metastasis and potential immunotherapy targets. The position is suited to a meticulous candidate interested in cancer metastasis, immunology, and/or translational research. The work involves carefully following detailed, time-sensitive protocols to process, stain, and image patient specimens. The technician may also assist with follow-up experiments to validate potential immunotherapeutic targets using cyclic immunofluorescence approaches. The role works under the Principal Investigator and more senior research technicians.
