The Rao Lab studies how circadian clocks regulate retinal neurovascular development, function, and disease. Using the mouse eye as a model, the lab investigates interactions between neurons and blood vessels during development and how internal timing mechanisms influence this coordination. Its research seeks molecular targets of circadian regulation within the retinal neurovascular unit and examines how disrupted rhythms affect retinal health, with the aim of identifying mechanisms that could support novel therapies applicable to multiple tissues. The Research Technician performs laboratory techniques and procedures for assigned experimental studies, supports scheduling and conducting analyses, uses laboratory equipment and instrumentation, and assembles experimental results for review by research staff. The position is based at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland and works days, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
