About The Position

The Lab Research Technician receives, identifies, processes, retrieves, and prepares research specimens according to laboratory policies and written study instructions. The role verifies specimen paperwork, resolves missing or inaccurate information, enters test orders, and maintains required research documentation and records. The technician packages and ships specimens, provides requested records, assists with research processing materials, and responds to researcher inquiries. The position follows infection control and personal protective equipment requirements, trains laboratory staff on research activities, and performs additional clinical duties such as phlebotomy as assigned. This is a full-time, 100% FTE dayshift position, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is based at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Requirements

High school diploma.
One year of healthcare- or laboratory-related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology, or equivalent.

Responsibilities
