About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to assist NIH-funded research projects by carrying out cellular and molecular assays using cancer cell lines, collecting and interpreting data, and contributing to publication of research results to scientific journals for Dr. Hyungjin Kim in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. The ideal applicant should have strong communication skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in biomedical sciences, or related fields.
  • Hands-on research experience in a biomedical laboratory setting in one of the following areas: cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or pharmacology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on mammalian cancer cell culture.
  • Research experience on molecular cloning and cell-based assays including but not limited to; Western blotting, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and cytotoxicity measurement.
  • Research background in cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform experiments to provide technical laboratory support.
  • Collect and analyze data utilizing specialized knowledge and skills in related fields.
  • Participate in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals.
  • May assist in grant writing.
  • Maintain lab equipment and common stocks.
  • Supervising lab members and attending conferences and meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.
