About The Position

Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Chiung-Kuei Huang in the Department of Medicine-Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in biomedical science or clinical medicine.
  • Experience working with maintaining mouse colonies and small rodent surgery independently.
  • Experience in cell culture, western blotting, PCR, qPCR, DNA gel.
  • Experience in supervising undergraduate students.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree (foreign equivalent) in biomedical science or clinical medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experiments; provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted.
  • Collect data, record observations measurements and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI.
  • Perform literature search; staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor and/or PI.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.
