About The Position
This position supports scientific investigation into human cancer within the Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role involves maintaining accurate laboratory records, training junior staff and students, assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) with grant preparation, publications, and manuscript preparation. The technician will also conduct library research, set up and operate laboratory equipment, and manage research supplies and inventory.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Responsibilities
- Assist and support scientific investigation to study human cancer as directed in the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
- Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
- Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
- Assist PI and communicate with collaborators and physicians and operate lab.
- Assist PI with grant preparation, especially administrative documents including Biosketches, facilities, LOS, and communications with HR and grant managers, etc.
- Assist principal investigator with the preparation of publications, manuscripts, articles, posters, and abstracts.
- Conduct library research on requested topics through researching current literature.
- Oversee and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities.
- Assist with training of junior research staff, and undergraduate and graduate students in research methods and equipment operation.
- Set up and operate laboratory equipment.
- Monitor research supply, including specimens, inventory and initiate procurement requests as needed.
