About The Position

The Bioinformatics Specialist supports translational and immuno-oncology research through the application of computational biology, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis methods. This position performs advanced analyses of high-dimensional genomic, transcriptomic, and single-cell sequencing datasets, develops analytical workflows, and collaborates with laboratory investigators to generate biological insights that support cancer research objectives. The incumbent serves as a key analytical resource within multidisciplinary research teams and contributes to publications, grant applications, and scientific presentations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience analyzing large-scale biological datasets.
  • Proficiency in R and Python.
  • Knowledge of bioinformatics methodologies for next-generation sequencing data analysis.
  • Experience with statistical modeling and data visualization techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing analysis.
  • Experience with Seurat, Monocle3, SCENIC, miloR, and related bioinformatics tools.
  • Experience analyzing immunology, oncology, or translational research datasets.
  • Experience with machine learning approaches including Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, deep learning, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience contributing to peer-reviewed publications.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing, Linux environments, and high-performance computing platforms.
