About The Position

The Research Scientist will deliver high-impact work within their area of expertise to advance business priorities at KLA’s Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) division. FaST develops metrology solutions for advanced semiconductor manufacturing, including systems that measure film thickness, critical dimensions, composition, and resistivity, and partners with customers from early R&D through high-volume production. The role calls for expertise in numerical methods, scientific computing, physics-based modeling, optimization algorithms, and software development.

Requirements

PhD in a relevant technical discipline, such as Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
Strong background in numerical methods, scientific computing, physics-based modeling, and optimization algorithms.
Proficiency in C++ software development.
Experience with Python for algorithm development and data analysis.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Minimum of 0 years of related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with electromagnetic simulation and numerical solutions of field equations, including RCWA, FDTD, FEM, or related techniques.
Experience with inverse problems, optimization, uncertainty quantification, and regression methods.
Experience with machine learning and AI techniques.
Experience with HPC software development, including CUDA, TensorFlow, JAX, GPU computing, and parallel processing.
Experience in semiconductor metrology, computational imaging, optical metrology, or related fields.
