Meta Reality Labs Research is seeking PhD interns to develop behavioral inference methods from sparse information. The team uses multimodal egocentric data, including data such as Project Aria, and machine learning to build robust, efficient models that support wearable AI. The work spans human behavior research, robust algorithms, and systems prototyping and optimization. Internships last 12 to 24 weeks, with start dates throughout the year; some projects require at least 16 consecutive weeks. The intern will use wearable-device data to develop AI algorithms for inferring human behavior patterns related to attention, cognition, or emotion. Example signals include longitudinal gaze behavior, physiological sensing, gestures, and vocal cues. The role also includes developing data-collection strategies, benchmarks, and metrics; collaborating throughout project development; communicating research progress and results; and publishing findings in leading journals and conferences. Research may eventually be applied to Meta products and services.
